Those interested should follow me or check it out here. I'll be traveling next month to visit with our daughter and her family in Knoxville and will share photos of how beautiful it is there. Happy Fall and don't forget to set your clocks back next weekend!Greeneyez2http://www.blogger.com/profile/13755253565924368389noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5306882480556219232.post-46775677338993275222014-08-21T14:24:00.006-05:002014-08-22T07:25:27.467-05:00Baby Groot

Baby Groot is finished. I posted about it on Facebook, but since animated images won't work there, here he is dancing. I want to give credit for the original pattern to Maarja.
And down below is something that is a work in progress. Tired of looking at the back side of our ugly wooden fence as the backdrop for my wine tree (which I've yet to post photos of here) I just thought a bit of silliness would look better, so I started with clouds, then added a tree, then a few leaves...still pondering on what to add next. Not to mention that the days get too darn hot for me to do much on it after around noon time. More later!
We shall see anyhow. Thought I'd share part of what I've been doing. Crochet seems to have taken over my life the past few months and many things have been created, but finally had the time to do something for myself. I took a couple of old Ikea bar stools and cleaned them up and crocheted mandala seat covers, then decided to make back covers as well. Then seeing as how I wanted to coordinate the freshly painted table/umbrella combo for the back patio, well you see by the photos what happened next. These were all done with Peaches & Cream cotton yarn and I sprayed them with a UV water proof type spray. When it rained recently, you could see it worked, cuz of the water beading up on them. So that's it for now. More later!
It was a Western Caribbean route on Royal Caribbean International. I've never felt so spoiled and indulgent in my whole life. Also, I can see how people get addicted to cruises. They change your outlook on life. I've been to 3 new places now. Roatan Honduras, Belize City Belize and Cozumel Mexico. Never had fed a monkey or macaw by hand before, but now I have. Never had floated in a river through a cave in another country, now I have. Also never experienced white sand and turquoise waters, now I have. Sure....the USA has white sand, but its surely not the same. Anyhow, here's a sampling of our vacay. Enjoy!
Ta Dah! I made these in one night, they were so much fun and very easy. In my favorite colors too! The pattern was free and can be found here on Tanya's blog. As always, I modified it slightly and added a double flower because I LOVE flowers! Plain ol' Red Heart yarn was used as I have an ample stash of the stuff, especially in the colors I adore. So voila! If you want a pair, send me the size and color/s you prefer. Price depends on whether you want them plain or with flowers and of course if I need to mail them to you versus picking them up locally.
My newest crocheted item crocheted with Yarn Bee Snowflake Wool Blend in the color Limelight with an H hook. It is very soft and squishy feeling and not too heavy. The fringed was tweaked somewhat by me adding little circles at the ends. You can find this pattern here and it is FREE! Marilyn Murphy is the original designer and it was published in Interweave Crochet Spring 2007 magazine. I am willing to sell this if anyone is interested, but if I get no takers it'll be nice for me to wear for the upcoming Fall weather that I hope gets here in Texas real soon!!!

Photos coming soon! Today I did something a bit different. It is called an applique, but it's more of a "macabre doily", or just not your usual Grannie's crocheted doily. The pattern was obtained from Ravelry.com for free, but unless you have an account (which is also free) then you won't be able to get it. The pattern artist has it here on Etsy, if you wish to see it. I used number 3 crochet thread and an E Hook to do mine. Photos coming soon for this too.......Greeneyez2http://www.blogger.com/profile/13755253565924368389noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5306882480556219232.post-21153552523733917562013-04-29T14:53:00.002-05:002013-04-29T14:53:50.892-05:00Wind Chime Afghan WIP

Afghan I've been working on. This is it so far. Still has 3 more rows and an edging to go. Pattern is free and can be found here. I've been doing a row a day as I have time and it really works up quickly, since it's all double and single crochet, not difficult at all.
Greeneyez2http://www.blogger.com/profile/13755253565924368389noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5306882480556219232.post-82049464832556294082013-03-28T22:21:00.000-06:002013-03-28T22:21:00.687-06:00The Host MovieI just now found out about this movie. Here's a cute little kitty I crocheted recently with DK yarn in aqua. Free pattern can be found on Helena Poz's blog here! The only changes I made besides whiskers was a tail. I mean, what cat has no tail unless it's a bobcat right?Greeneyez2http://www.blogger.com/profile/13755253565924368389noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5306882480556219232.post-52025506325532404832013-01-24T13:50:00.002-06:002013-02-06T12:06:46.111-06:00Facebook Time OffI deactivated my account today. Made these last week for our twin granddaughters Halloween costume. Basic earflap crochet pattern can be found here on the artist's blog. (Vicki Mikulak) I used regular Super Saver Red Heart yarn for these. Lots of fun!
